A cyclist was killed when a vehicle hit him while he was cycling through the city

A cyclist died Sunday after a car hit him as he was biking through the streets of Pittsburgh.

The crash happened at around 3:20 p.m. at West 25th Street and Broadway in the city’s North Side neighborhood, according to the Allegheny County Coroner’s Office.

The cyclist was identified as 23-year-old Jose Hernandez, according the Coroner.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 33-year old Michael Rocha, of the 6300 block of West 27th Street, has been charged with vehicular homicide, according authorities.

The man was treated at the scene for injuries to his face and neck.

Police are asking anyone who saw the incident or any other traffic collisions to call 911.
